Combining Altibase and Microstrategy will provide in-memory and disk storage and analysis

The result combines in-memory storage and processing for data required in real time with disk-based storage for other datasets by breaking down internal data warehouses into smaller "data marts" and allocating some of these marts in Altibase's in-memory database.

Microstrategy officials say firms can benefit from the speed advantages of in-memory databases and the security of disk storage, enabling them to monitor and respond to market activity in real time while also drastically reducing reporting timeframes.
