LME Launches Real-Time Test Trading Platform

city-of-london-1
The LME has introduced a stress testing platform that allows clients to test their trading strategies in a live environment.

LMEstage allows firms to ensure their compliance with the recommended testing practices as set out in European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) guidelines.

"Clients can achieve much more with LMEstage than with traditional testing methods, because our system provides a fully interactive and dynamic environment that mirrors live trading behavior on the LME's electronic trading platform, LMEselect," says Robin Paine, LME's chief technology officer. "Existing testing methods generally involve back-testing using historical market data, while LMEstage provides higher confidence for users by producing a more accurate reflection of the real market."

The exchange says it uses custom algorithms to generate order flow and can stress the simulated market by providing strong directional price pressure or high order rates.
