Eurex Halts Trading on Tech Glitch

It was unclear whether the glitch was related to the new T7 trading architecture at the venue, implemented last fall by Eurex to further its position in rate-based derivatives and compete with CME Group in currency and foreign exchange-based (FX) products.

The news is the latest in a recent string of technology problems for major financial services providers and exchange operators, among them errant options orders sent by Goldman Sachs early last week, and a consolidated market data feed problem at Nasdaq that crippled markets for several hours this past Thursday.
