The wireless connection promises data delivery in 4.25 milliseconds one way, 36 percent faster than the fastest existing fiber connection, which takes 6.65 milliseconds. It will be available starting April 1.
"We're trying to give all our market participants the same opportunity to get to the next-generation networking solution, so they don't have to go out and bear the cost burden of this," says Stacie Swanstrom, head of access services at Nasdaq. "The goal is to level the playing field."
