NYSE Partners ATG for Brazilian Equities Venue

Essentially run by ATG, NYSE will provide the core technology for the new venture.

The two firms had previously worked with Bolsa Mexicana de Valores on a wholesale re-engineering of Mexico's trading infrastructure. The new company, named Americas Trading System Brasil (ATS Brasil), plans to begin operation from next year. It will likely compete with BM&F BOVESPA, the dominant exchange in Brazil, although the release from NYSE stresses that it aims to complement trading on the primary market rather than challenge the incumbent.

ATG will have a controlling stake in the company
