Nomura Moves Equities Execution Services to Instinet

Nomura
Nomura's move is part of an ongoing structural shift within the bank, which is shrinking its European operations.

The move comes as part of a broader re-organization in the bank's global equities franchise, which is also set to include a new range of investor and corporate solutions products, and corporate access research. Prior clients of the firm's research services, whose execution is now being routed to Instinet, will retain full access to Nomura's equity research, the firm also says. Additionally, Nomura's operations in Japan are unaffected by the reshuffle.

"Equity markets are being dramatically reshaped globally as a result of the current environment and the accompanying demand for transparent, agency-driven execution," says Benoit Savoret, joint head of global equities at Nomura. "The changes announced today uniquely position Nomura in this new market environment. With the new model, we are combining the best of our superior technology platforms under Instinet to provide our clients with a truly independent, agency-only execution offering."
