ISDA Pushing Bar Codes for Confirmations

WASHINGTON—The International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) is working on a new bar code standard that aims to streamline the processing of trade confirmations across a variety of asset classes.

The new bar codes will not be designed to contain all trade details. However, Karel Engelen, project manager for the FpML committee at ISDA, says key pieces of information such as identification of trade counterparties and trade references such as trade date, contract maturity, and expiry dates
