JPMC's Adams Is 'CIO of the Year'

NEW YORK--Sibling publication Waters magazine in its December edition has named JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s (JPMC) executive vice president and CIO Austin Adams as "CIO of the Year" for 2004.
Waters
cites Adams' assertive role in canceling multi-billion-dollar outsourcing deals that caused the industry to take notice. In particular, JPMC scrapped a $5 billion, seven-year contract with IBM this past September (DWT, Sept. 20), a deal that lasted less than two years.
