Abbey Embarks on Cost-Cutting Review

LONDON--UK bank Abbey National is involved in a major cost-cutting review that is expected to involve significant staff cuts and technology outsourcing. But it remains unclear whether any outsourcing would affect the bank’s trading floor technology or would focus solely on its main retail operations.
