GAO Chides Firms for Insufficient BCP

WASHINGTON, D.C.--The US General Accounting Office (GAO) delivered a report last week chiding nine out of 15 "critical" organizations that, a year and seven months after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, still have insufficient business continuity planning (BCP) for incidents that could incapacitate their primary sites.

The nine organizations, "including two GAO considered critical to the functioning of the financial markets," had not assured the government that staff would be available to carry on
