Infrastructure: Tibco Software Returns To a Troubled EAI Market

TRADING TECHNOLOGY WEEK ANNUAL REVIEW 2003

PALO ALTO, Calif.--In 2003, Tibco Software, historically the primary agent of integration and data movement in capital-markets trading rooms, loudly proclaimed its return to the enterprise application integration (EAI) marketplace for financial services.

To get there, Tibco dissolved an agreement with its largest stakeholder, Reuters, sooner than expected. The deal, signed in 1999, prevented Tibco from engaging in direct sales and support relationships with capital markets community.
