Back to the Drawing Board: FIX Certification Effort Dies

NEW YORK--FIX Protocol Ltd. (FPL) has ceased negotiations with its certification company Tradeassure, the alliance consisting of the Securities Industry Automation Corp. (SIAC), Hewlett-Packard and the Open Group that was selected in the spring to develop a centralized FIX certification process.

FPL, which steered the initiative from the beginning, made the decision to halt negotiations with Tradeassure when the company was unable to drum up the necessary funding for the effort. Also cited as
