Deloitte: Offshoring Could Save Billions in IT Costs

LONDON--Top trading firms could save up to $1.4 billion over the next five years by moving more IT and other business functions offshore, according to a new study by Deloitte Research.

Offshoring is being considered by interdealer broker GFI, which has moved some development offshore to free up core developers for key ongoing projects (TTW, Feb 3), while software vendor Misys has also beefed up its offshore presence in response to cost pressures (TTW, Jan 27). Reuters, too, has embraced offshore
