CE, CBOT To Jointly Develop Electronic Audit-Trail System

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade are developing an electronic audit-trail system that will feature hand-held terminals for data input.

The joint development is a response to the recent U.S. government investigation into alleged violations at the exchanges of the Federal Commodities Act. But announcement of the plan preceded Commodity Futures Trading Commission proposals aimed at deterring abuses highlighted by the Federal investigation. Those proposals would require
