Sonic, Neovest Aim Platforms At Institutions

NEW YORK--Sonic Trading and Neovest, two direct-access trading software companies, have launched direct-access trading platforms for institutions. Sonic's platform has not yet been named, and Neovest's is simply called Neovest.

Direct-access technology connects individuals and firms with ECNs, market makers and exchanges without broker intervention. As such, the technology has largely been the province of the active "day" trading market and of hedge funds that do not have the extensive compliance
