Nasdaq's Implementation Of Inside Quotes Will Wait

NEW YORK--The Nasdaq Stock Market has postponed its plan to implement inside quote calculations in after-hours trading until February 7th, 2000. At that time, Nasdaq will calculate a continuous inside quote--the highest bid and lowest offer from all market participants--throughout the after-hours session from 4 PM to 6:30 PM EST in securities which market participants have entered quotations. Nasdaq originally set December 6th as the launch date.
