DEALING WITH TECHNOLOGY 2001 PREVIEW

LONDON--The Dealing With Technology/Dealing With Risk 2001 exhibition in London this week features a wide range of technology for a bank's trading floor, including new products from Syntegra, Lucidity and Amulet Hotkey.

Syntegra is launching its latest voice integration system, ITS Myriad, which enables financial services firms to communicate with clients and partners using any channel. ITS Myriad supports multiple channels--integrating voice, web, e-mail, chat, mobile and other client systems--within a single desktop environment.

Lucidity will launch its global trading operations application, which offers a bank's traders and risk managers a global, real-time view of their positions, trading activity and market rates. Traders can gain access to the view through a hand-held device, allowing them to view their positions anywhere at any time.

In addition, Amulet Hotkey has teamed up with IBM to provide a complete remote PC solution for trading rooms, which it will be demonstrating at this week's event. The new solution, which has already been rolled out in Enskilda Bank's trading room in London, uses Amulet's AM2000 products to provide access to workstations remotely up to 250 meters. Amulet Hotkey will also launch the Smartloom cable management system at the show.

More than 30 other vendors will also be exhibiting at this year's event. DWT comes to The Brewery on Chiswell Street in London on Wednesday, April 4, from 8:30 am to 6 pm. Compaq will be demonstrating the latest in wireless access, security and PC technology:I-Paq Pocket PC hand-helds with one to two forms of wireless solutions; the latest Armada laptop with industry-standard wireless LAN; and the newest Pentium IV workstation with digital flat panel displays and advanced smartcard security technology.

CSK SOFTWARE STAND 12

CSK Software, a financial markets solutions company, helps the world's leading institutions deliver and employ critical applications reliably, rapidly and securely. E-PORTALS STAND 04

E-portals will announce the development of X-Treasury.net, a new family of products based upon the .Net Framework from Microsoft. Although the .Net development environment is currently only available from Microsoft in early beta form, E-portals will be demonstrating working prototypes of some of its derivative pricing and deal capture software, developed using this technology and written in the new highly productive C# programming language.

The company has also commenced the development of a range of components, web services and systems for the treasury functions within banks and corporations. The product design covers instrument pricing, deal capture, position keeping, risk management and client limit utilization. The products will be multi-currency, multi-branch, multi-location and be capable of producing integrated global information in real time. Access to all services, including support and maintenance, will be via secure and encrypted browser access.

FINANCIAL OBJECTS STAND 05

Financial Objects is dedicated to the provision of advanced banking software and services to international banks, securities trading houses, building societies and corporates. In the field of Internet-enabled component-based applications, the group has one of the largest installed bases in the banking software package industry. Financial Objects will demonstrate the front office modules of Activebank.net--an advanced, component-based universal banking application. It provides real-time deal capture, pricing, position-keeping and risk management facilities, and it can also link to other systems, such as Reuters Dealing 2000-2 and EBS. It will also show Activebank Web--a framework and set of related services that allows the rapid upgrading of a bank's existing systems to support Internet delivery. The corporate web permits a bank's corporate clients to gain access to online dealing, pricing and related services.

IRIS FINANCIAL ENGINEERING AND SYSTEMS STAND 01

LUCIDITY TRADING SYSTEMS STAND 27

Lucidity Trading Systems will launch its global trading operations application, allowing a bank to support all of its trading rooms from a central set of servers. The Lucidity Trading System is a three-tier thin client/server architecture that uses Lucidity's proprietary application server software. It offers a bank's traders and risk managers a global, real-time view of their positions, trading activity and market rates.

Traders can gain access to the view through a hand-held device, so that they can gain access to their positions anywhere at any time.

Also on show are Lucidity Base, Lucidity's unique, adaptable platform for the global delivery of trading applications; Lucidity Trader, a comprehensive trade capture, position-keeping and monitoring system for a range of treasury instruments; Lucidity Risk, a global, real-time, risk monitoring system on the Lucidity Base platform; and

Lucidity Mobile, which enables wireless access to Lucidity's applications from hand-held devices such as the Compaq I-Paq.

MACALLA SOFTWARE STAND 03

Macalla Software is a provider of mobile e-commerce solutions for the finance and telecommunication sectors. Macalla operates globally from offices in London, New York, Madrid and Frankfurt, with its headquarters in Dublin. The company's secure mobile e-commerce product suite, Mobility, is at the core of its products.

REUTERS STANDS 22 AND 23

Reuters (www.reuters.com) is a global information, news and technology group founded on its reputation for speed, accuracy and technological innovation. The company provides global solutions and technologies for the financial markets, including risk and trade management software.

Reuters will be displaying its 3000 Xtra market data display application, its Reuters Credit Internet-based global credit information service, its Kondor+ risk management system and the Reuters Portfolio Management System, a professional portfolio management system based on technology enabling portfolio managers and investment advisers to gain access to all relevant customer and portfolio information in real time. It will also be exhibiting its Reuters Internet Finance Platform, one of the software components of the Trading Solutions Architecture.
