Arca to Offer Opening Auction
EXCHANGE TECHNOLOGIES
CHICAGO--The Archipelago ECN will launch an opening auction on its Web site and via third-party applications after it transitions to exchange status in late March.
The service, dubbed Opening Auction, will provide anticipated opening prices of stocks prior to the market's open. After the markets open, it will be used if there is a halt in the trading of a security to develop an anticipated opening price before trading resumes.
However, Opening Auction will be used mainly between 8:00 and 9:30 am
