Barclays Refits and Upgrades IT in Metlife Move
TRADING FLOOR TECHNOLOGY
NEW YORK--Barclays Capital plans to begin moving to its new trading floor in midtown Manhattan in July, says Nick Themelis, CIO for the Americas. The floor will leverage the firm’s global software and hardware standards.
Those standards include IPC for turrets and voice support, Speakerbus for intercoms, Cisco for networking, Intel- and Unix-based Sun server platforms for Web infrastructure and Compaq for PCs. Where appropriate, the firm is also trying to standardize its cable-plant design
