NEW YORK--The Financial Information Exchange Technical Committee's working group on electronic communications networks and traditional exchanges held its first meeting here last month and quickly addressed proposals to extend the reach of the messaging protocol to a wide variety of trading forums. The working group's proposals were subsequently presented to a technical committee meeting held on March 2 and may be addressed again at a larger meeting of FIX participants scheduled for April 1 at
