If you haven’t yet heard, there’s a new start-up in town--StreamBase Systems, of Lexington, Mass.--that is hoping to do for streaming data what relational databases did for stored data.
The company has the backing of professors and students from M.I.T., Brown University and Brandeis University as well as database pioneer Michael Stonebraker, who is a company founder and its chief technology officer (CTO). Industry veteran Barry Morris is StreamBase’s CEO, a post he held at Iona Technologies
