Dissemination Rule For Muni Trade Prices A Lure For Vendors?

The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) has requested information from bond dealers to prepare for a July 1997 industrywide testing phase of a new rule that will require dealers to disseminate price information on trades with retail and institutional municipal investors. The testing phase will end in January, at which time the muni dealers will be required to disseminate that price information--creating a possible new area for data vendors to explore.
