Brewin Dolphin Integrates VDF, CAPS

UK stockbroker Brewin Dolphin Securities went live on Jan. 23 with an STP solution that uses Telekurs Financial's corporate actions data, delivered via its Valordata Feed in the ISO 15022 format, and Mondas' Radica CAPS corporate actions processing system. Brewin Dolphin can now select and receive data via the Web-based system, including real-time elections and transactions data, on specific securities from Telekurs in ISO 15022 format.

EBS Releases Historic FX Data

Electronic FX and metals broker EBS is making its historical FX data commercially available to FX traders. EBS Data Mine provides data of all currencies traded on EBS Spot since 1997. The company is targeting FX professionals from banks and other trading firms, following demand for the data for use in trading models and FX business strategies.

Xcitek to Map DataScope CAs

Clients of Xcitek's XSP corporate actions processing software will now be able to map ISO 15022-format corporate actions data from Reuters' DataScope back-office product into XSP, under the terms of an agreement between the two vendors. The move should improve straight through processing of corporate actions for clients, and gives Reuters another delivery option to expand the reach of its corporate actions data.

Gissing Develops ConteX Express

Gissing Software has developed ConteX Express, a lightweight ver sion of its ConteX contributions software, for firms whose contribution requirements don't just ify a full implementation of Con teX MCS. ConteX Express provides man agement, traffic and logging capabilities, and is designed to use only one in put handler and one output handler.

CME to Shut Off MD API

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange has told customers that it will shut off its legacy Market Data API on July 1 this year as more customers move to the exchange's new Market Data Platform. MDP was launched in July last year to replace MD API and Market Data Network. MD API was used to integrate CME's data with users' and vendors' software applications, but required the installation of middleware from Tibco, which is eliminated by the new platform.

Asset Control, b-next Ally for MiFID

Herford, Germany-based consultancy and software developer b-next is to integrate its MADOC suite of regulatory compliance applications with the AC Plus data collection and cleansing server from New York-based data management solution vendor Asset Control. The aim is to provide banks with a turnkey solution to meet the best-execution and conflict-of-interest requirements of the European Union's Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID).

BT Radianz Adds Nymex Access

BT Radianz is now providing extranet connectivity for the New York Mercantile Exchange. The agreement means that Nymex members can receive market data and send orders to and receive confirmations from the exchange's ClearPort system via BT Radianz's network.

Osaka Exchange Has Trouble

The Osaka Stock Exchange, Japan's second-largest exchange, reported delays on Thursday, Feb. 2, in providing stock prices, after a large number of orders arrived immediately before the end of the trading session. According to a spokesperson, the distribution of the closing prices of 67 stocks and funds from the electronic information system was delayed, forcing the exchange to fax the data to users. The spokesperson says the system was restored about four hours later following the close of trading, at which point the data was delivered to users. The spokesperson declines to give further details beyond saying that "necessary setting changes" were made, and trading was conducted normally on the next business day.
