Low Latency Optional for Firms

"There's a tremendous amount of hype about low latency ... I'm not sure it's quite as important as everybody thinks it is," says John Barr, research director of financial markets and head of E.U. research at The 451 Group, who spoke at a recent panel on latency hosted by his research firm. From a business perspective, firms should consider whether low-latency architecture would provide value before deciding to adopt it, he adds.
