After Sept. 11,

Prudential Financial modified its disaster recovery plan. That modification involved closing its center in New York and opening one in Pennsylvania.

On Labor Day weekend last year, almost a year after the World Trade Center attacks, Prudential Financial declared a disaster at its New York data center at One New York Plaza. But this disaster was declared voluntarily. And nothing was actually wrong.

The center had been undamaged on Sept. 11, but it was rendered temporarily
