Wachovia Goes on the Grid

Wachovia Bank isn’t letting a recession and tight budgets keep it from implementing new technologies and rolling out new hardware. The bank, located in Charlotte, N.C., is mulling how to deploy grid computing--the method of tapping into the unused and underutilized processor power of a financial firm’s servers--across the enterprise and blade PCs for its new trading floor.

This summer Wachovia upgraded to DataSynapse’s GridServer 3.2 software, which allows firms to grid-enable their Web services
