So, my prediction is that 2006 will be "The Year of …?" This isn't to say, however, that there aren't any worthy topics floating out there.

Take Linux. Many say that Linux has become old hat. As one Linux World panelist said in 2004, "If you don't have Linux in your firm by now, you're already behind the rest of the industry." The same goes for open-source development. Now that IBM and SunGard have written it into their business models, Linux has moved from the early-adopter to the majority
