NASD OUTSOURCES APPS, OPERATIONS TO EDS
The National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and its NASD Regulation unit last week formalized an agreement to outsource its IT operations and application development to EDS. The 10-year deal--known as Nastech--is worth between $1.5 billion and $2 billion and is expected to result in cost savings of more than $500 million. Some 350 NASD and NASD Regulation employees will transfer to EDS, and EDS will manage a further 350 third party consultants
