Reuters Purge Starts With RI In London

LONDON--The first in a series of layoffs at Reuters took place in London last week, mainly in the Reuters Information (RI) group’s marketing division, as part of the vendor’s massive restructuring program.
Around 50 RI marketing people, largely based at Kildare House off of Fleet Street, were made redundant last Monday, sources say. Other staffers based in the US were cut, although officials declined to specify the number.
