Linux Show to Look Beyond Total Cost of Ownership

NEW YORK--Now that Linux has firmly asserted itself on Wall Street, the challenge for Linux providers will be to get users to recognize the open-source operating system as something more than a means to cost-cutting.

Linux computing should be seen as an "enabling environment," says Sam Greenblatt, senior vice president and chief architect with the Linux Technology Group of Computer Associates (CA), which offers management software for Linux.
