Merrill Licenses Nexthedge For Global Equity Derivatives

Merrill Lynch & Co. has licensed a new trading system to support its worldwide exchange-traded equity derivatives operations. The system, dubbed Nexthedge, runs under Next Computer Inc.'s Nextstep object-oriented operating system. Word of Merrill Lynch's Nexthedge decision follows the securities firm's signing of an $8 million deal with Next to use its technology and consulting services for proprietary systems development (TST, Oct. 16).
