Street Firms Pack Programmers Off To Java Training Course

MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGY

PaineWebber, Bear Stearns and Nomura Securities International all sent employees, mostly programming personnel, to attend a week-long Java Internet programming language training class in New York City earlier this month. The class was hosted by Fusion Systems Group, a consultant and strategic alliance partner of Sun Microsystems, which developed the Java language.

Calls to Bear Stearns concerning the class were referred to Peter Cherasia, senior managing director of the firm's Financial Analysis
