Orbix Finally Gets Its Chance

In addition to overhauling its trading systems, Chase Bank also plans to increase its use of the Orbix object request broker (ORB) from Iona Technologies, based in Dublin, Ireland. The bank IT staffs intend to use Orbix to connect trading applications.
Chase has a history of preferring Orbix's CORBA-compliant ORB over similar middleware products offered by vendors such as Tibco, Neon and Mint Communications (Trading Systems Technology, March 17). (See related story).
