ING Barings To Move To 44,000-Sq.-Ft. Floor

ING Barings will move its 400 New York traders to a new 44,000-square-foot trading floor in early 1998. Compared to the firm's existing 14,000 square feet of trading space, the new floor "will feel like an outdoor stadium," as ING Barings' chairman Lane Grijns puts it.

The main impetus for the move, the chairman says, is to consolidate the ING and Barings companies, which were merged in 1995. ING Barings traders, currently located in two locations at 667 Madison Ave., will be consolidated at 55
