To the Editor:

The arguments concerning IR35 are well-rehearsed, with the government continuing to state that it is an anti-tax avoidance measure. However, 90,000 small businesses and entrepreneurs (according to Inland Revenue figures) see it as an illegally focused tax and restraint of trade that has forced many among them to close.

IR35 is perhaps the most criticized, castigated piece of regulation ever put through Parliament. Treasury ministers have admitted that IR35 is the greatest fiscal
