Reuters Promotes Meekings to CIO

LONDON--Reuters veteran Greg Meekings has emerged from a recent reshuffling of senior Reuters managers to take on the role of CIO (chief information officer) with a mandate to oversee internal IT systems and to make Reuters more customer friendly.
Just prior to his promotion announced last week, Meekings had been one of several senior Reuters managers left without portfolio (TTW, July 1). The former managing director of the Reuters Global Services division, recently rolled into regional sales
