Who Will Fill the VMU Void in 2003?

As 2002 came to a close, so did the virtual matching utility functions of the GSTP, the operating company of the Global Straight Through Processing Association (GSTPA) (TTW, Nov. 25, 2002). For 2003, the VMU void could be filled by vendors Financial Models Co. (FMC), Omgeo and SunGard, although the industry is still sorting out whether it wants central matching facilities (TTW, Dec. 9, 2002).

In the meantime, industry players and user firms may have to look to Omgeo and Swift for guidance on VMU
