UK Firms Cutting IT Spending By 40 Percent

LONDON--UK trading technology spending for 2002 could be 40 percent lower than in 2001, and it may be another two years before spending increases, according to estimates from the latest annual survey of UK trading rooms from financial technology consultancy firm Kimsey Consulting, based in Taunton, UK.

The Kimsey researchers also found that there were fewer new trading operations and re-fits over the last last year--the lowest response in the history of the survey.
