Merrill Favors Reuters, IBM for Retail Deal

NEW YORK--Reuters is likely to sign an outsourcing deal with Merrill Lynch that will define the next generation of its retail brokerage platform, the Trusted Global Advisor (TGA) system, say industry sources.

In a related development, IBM is said to be one of the major subcontractors, says a source familiar with the situation. IBM is an incumbent provider for TGA. IBM officials did not return inquiries by press time.
