Nomura International suffered serious damage from a terrorist bomb explosion in London last month. That bomb, which hit a number of financial institutions' facilities in London Docklands area, partially destroyed Nomura's mainframe processing and communications centre and forced the securities firm to curtail its trading activities during the time it took
to shift its IT and telecommunications operations to back-up sites. Volumes were "gently eased up during the week" as IT staff reassured
