Reuters Buying Binge: Effix Is Latest Grab

Reuters has acquired Effix Holdings S.A. from Banque Internationale de Gestion de Tresorerie for £7 million, or about $15 million, in cash. The deal gives Reuters control of Effix's line of trading room software products--including the Advanced Trader Workstation (ATW) software system that has been the primary front-end to Triarch 2000 for the past two years.
That Reuters should buy Effix is not surprising: The marketing agreement for the ATW which Reuters has maintained with Effix Holdings'
