At Reuters' recent Infoworld exhibition in Geneva, the vendor treated the Swiss, and others, to a view of what is shaping up to be a new version of its Advanced Trader Workstation. Currently known as Kobra, the Effix-developed system is in fact ATW version 4.0, savants say. It incorporates object-oriented programming functionality (!). In Geneva, ATW 4.0 demos ran on Unix and Windows NT, but Reuters officials said a version running on Microsoft's Chicago operating system (!!) would soon emerge.
