Offshore Push Prompts Cuts at Lehman

NEW YORK--Lehman Brothers’ offshore outsourcing of roughly 80 projects to Mumbai, India-based Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Bangalore, India-based Wipro Technologies will result in staff reductions, according to a memo issued by chief information officer (CIO) Jon Beyman on Jan. 7 and obtained by Trading Technology Week last week.
"Any reductions at Lehman sites will be first handled though attrition, and if practical, by eliminating on-shore consultant resources," the memo says. "Employees
