Reuters' deal to create a networking joint venture with Equant will probably make more lawyers rich than anyone else. Not only is there the usual paperwork to get through, the SEC documents to grind out, and shareholder approval forms to be drawn up and distributed. There is also the question about regulatory approvals for transferring all those assets from Reuters to the new company. It is not just one country. There are bureaucrats in big and small countries around the world that jealously
