CAT Contract May Need Amendments to Protect Personal Data

If a House bill seeking to ban the gathering of PII data passes, plan processor says it will wait for guidance from the NMS committee.

The CAT NMS (national market system) plan committee said last week that it is working toward implementing the first phase of the CAT in November 2018. However, a bill awaiting debate in the House of Representatives that prevents the gathering of personally identifiable information (PII) could force the CAT processor, Thesys CAT, to continue taking in that data.
