Montgomery will be taking on a newly created role in the team, focusing on aligning business strategy with client demands, as well helping expand the company’s presence in London. His appointment adds to the firm’s executive team and he will report to chief executive officer Robin Mess.

Prior to joining Big XYT, Montgomery was director of electronic trading sales at Barclays Capital, which he joined in 2009. He previously worked at Alliance Bernstein where he established its European portfolio and electronic trading desk, and has also held roles in LatentZero and agency broker ITG.

Big XYT says that it sees a potential increase in demand for data especially with changes in market structure and regulation that encourages firms to depend on analytics. The company hopes to expand and noted adding Montgomery to its team is part of its growth strategy.
