The high-frequency Matching Binary Multicast Feed increases the frequency at which Thomson Reuters distributes market data updates on currency pairs traded on its Matching platform up to 10 times faster than previously available. Thomson Reuters oficials have previously stated that clients have deemed 100 or 250 milliseconds (ms) too long to wait between updates when they need to either hedge or make pricing decisions.

“Over the last few years, electronic trading in foreign exchange has moved into the sweet spot of Redline’s ultra-low latency trading solutions,” says Redline chief executive Mark Skalabrin in a statement. “Our liquidity aggregation becomes even more effective at assuring best execution in FX trading as liquidity providers like Thomson Reuters and EBS introduce faster market data technologies,” he adds.
