European Commission Puts €500,000 Into ‘Blockchain Observatory'
The project is designed to provide a further understanding of distributed-ledger technology and its impact on financial services.

Mandated by a recent vote in the European Parliament, the EC announced the Blockchain Observatory pilot project. A Commission official tells WatersTechnology that the main goal is to build up technical expertise and regulatory capacity in the area of fintech and distributed-ledger technologies.
