Redline Boosts Treasuries Support with Brokertec Feed Handler

The feed handler gives Redline support for the key electronic US Treasuries markets, following the release of a handler for eSpeed last year.

The vendor finished certifying its new feed handler for Brokertec last month, and officials say the development presented no challenges, having already built a feed handler for US Treasuries on Nasdaq’s eSpeed bond trading platform late last year (IMD, Nov. 23, 2015).

Redline chief executive Mark Skalabrin says the feed handler and order gateway should appeal to those trading cash Treasuries as well as those trading cash versus Treasury futures, from hedge funds to large banks.

“We are seeing people ask a lot about fixed income venues. Three or four years ago, people started to get serious about foreign exchange and performance… and now, we are really seeing people getting serious about the technology they use in their fixed income platforms,” Skalabrin says.

In addition, expanding its coverage of fixed income markets strengthens Redline’s proposition as a cross-asset cost-saving play for firms active in multiple markets. “Maintaining separate platforms for equities, options, futures, FX, and fixed income… is very expensive,” says Lee Fisher, vice president of marketing at Redline. “We have a multi-asset class solution that can enable big savings while delivering high performance.”
