Innovate Finance, a member organization focused on fintechs in the UK, and Startupbootcamp, a global accelerator program, will serve as partners to Lloyds Banking Group to help the bank identify candidates for the program. The firm will also collaborate with FemTech Leaders, a group focused on females in financial technology.
Lloyds Banking Group also plans to launch a custom platform that will allow fintechs to apply for acceptance into the program.
Mentors will come from throughout Lloyds Banking Group and be coupled with startups based on needs and expertise in business development, technology and marketing. The firm is hoping to enroll 100 mentors to work with the same number of startups initially.
"Through collaboration and partnerships with startups, we can support the evolution of how the financial services sector will serve its customers," said Marc Lien, innovation and digital development director at Lloyds Banking Group, in a statement. "This program will be mutually beneficial as we can also learn lessons from fintech firms' successes and failures that will help shape and inform our digitization journey."
